As rumored and predicted Microsoft has officially dropped the price of their X-box 360 family of consoles!
360 Elite was $399.00, now just $299.00
360 Pro was $299.00, now just $249.00
So if you were holding out…good on you! You get a deal. The thing to keep in mind about the consoles right now is that none of the big players are going to release anything new for the next few years. So the 360 \ PS3 \ Wii are going to be riding it out for a while. There will be little tweaked out versions like how Sony is about to release the PS3 Slim, and Nintendo will bring out a Wii HD, but nothing like a Sony PS4 or Microsoft X-Box 920 or a Nintendo Poo will be hitting the shelves any time soon.
I’ve actually been lucky and haven’t experienced the red ring of death with my 360…but being the eternal pessimist I am it only leaves me worried that I’ll get it the day after the warranty expires. This at least gives me a little breathing room for when mine finally does head up to that big electronic cloud in the sky.
So what about you? Are you going to get a 360 now or maybe upgrade your old white box? Or does this just make you want the new PS3 Slim more?

Hey, I have a question, the 360 Elite…is that the black one? I have the standard white 360 bought a few years back. Internal HD came with it… I never saw the need to upgrade to the Black one…was it that much better?
Actually the only differences are that it has a bigger 120 GB hard drive, a built in HDMI port (for HD junkies), and it comes in black.
